Product Description
MaxioCel is a soft, single-use, absorbent chitosan microfiber wound dressing primarily intended to absorb wound exudate.

Upon contact with wound exudate, MaxioCel transforms into a cohesive gel matrix that helps maintain a moist environment conducive to
wound healing and allows for easy removal. MaxioCel may remain in place for up to 7 days.

Intended Use
MaxioCel helps create a suitable wound environment by absorbing excess exudate. Upon contact with wound exudate, it transforms into a
cohesive gel matrix that conforms to the wound bed, maintains an appropriate moisture balance, reduces dead space, and provides a
soothing effect on the wound surface.

MaxioCel is made from chitosan derived from shellfish. Chitosan absorbs wound exudate and supports wound management. As a natural
material, it may change color over time; this does not affect its performance.

Instructions for Use for MaxioCel Chitosan Wound Dressing

Wound Bed Preparation

Debride the wound if necessary. Irrigate and clean the wound site according to standard procedures.

Dressing Selection

For flat or superficial wounds, select an appropriately sized dressing that extends at least 0.5 cm beyond the wound edges to maximize conformity
after gel formation. For cavity wounds, use a longer dressing.

Dressing Application

1. Always use aseptic technique when dressing the wound.
2. Remove the dressing from the pouch. Cut, fold, or layer it as needed to fit the wound. Loosely pack cavity wounds to allow MaxioCel to absorb
wound exudate and expand to fill the wound. Caution: Do not pack tightly.
3. When using MaxioCel in cavity wounds, the dressing as a single piece, leaving at least 2.5 cm outside the wound to facilitate removal.
4. Cover and secure with an appropriate secondary dressing.

Apply MaxioCel to the wound as follows:

For dry wounds, first moisten the dressing or wound surface with sterile water or saline. Then cover and secure with an occlusive or semi-occlusive
secondary dressing to maintain appropriate moisture and reduce the risk of adherence.

For lightly exuding wounds, apply gentle pressure with an appropriate secondary dressing for a few minutes as needed to stabilize the dressing
and assist exudate absorption. Adjust the method of securing the dressing and the dressing change frequency according to the exudate level and
clinical assessment.

Dressing Changes and Removal

If the dressing adheres to the wound and is difficult to remove, thoroughly soak it with saline or water until fully hydrated, then gently remove it.

MaxioCel may remain in place for up to 7 days, depending on the assessment of the patient’s condition, wound condition, surrounding skin, and
exudate level. For best results, replace the dressing before it reaches its maximum absorption capacity. For wounds with heavy exudate, changing
the dressing every other day is recommended.

Before applying a new dressing, irrigate the wound site with an appropriate wound cleansing solution, such as saline.
